Cloudy sunset on an empty beach

That day, drizzle made the land in South West Sumba Regency quite wet. The dusts which usually billowing in the air were not seen; the usually hot and dry temperature became cooler, and it made me quite lazy to explore the area as I usually did when traveling. My travel partner looked annoyed with my laziness that afternoon  At last, for not to make her more annoyed, I decided to go to the nearest beach from Tambolaka, the city that I used for my base in my trip to Sumba at that time.

Fortunately, the rain was already stopped when I started to go from the hotel. The dark cloud was started to disperse and the afternoon sky became clearer. In the west, however, thin dark cloud still hung low, blocking the ray of the sun that already started to set.

In less than 30 minutes after leaving the hotel, I was already at a beach. So fast? Yes . . the beach was only about 10 kilometers from Tambolaka to the east, and the road leading to the beach was quite good. The road brought every traveler who wanted to go to the beach directly to the shore, even the road could be seen as the edge of the beach area. Beyond the road there was a wide white sandy beach that looked quite empty that afternoon. A hotel at the other side of the road was standing majestically although it also was seemed to have no guests. It was said the lack of electricity and continuous supply of fresh water made the area was not as attractive as other area.

For me, and perhaps for other sunset and sunrise lovers, the main point was a clear sky which would enable us to watch the pretty moments.

So, without further explanations about the beach which was known as Mananga Aba Beach that located in Karuni Village, South West Sumba Regency, Indonesia, let’s enjoy the sunset moments. It was still pretty even though dark clouds were hanging low at the western sky, as the clouds added colors to the sunset sky.–

Keterangan :
