A place that is not as beautiful as its name

While in Tegal, I spent one afternoon at the town’s beach which is known as Pantai Alam Indah or ‘the beautiful natural beach’ if  you want to translate the name into English. Actually the beach was not as beautiful as every traveler’s expectations when they heard its name. Along the shore there were many stalls that sold many kinds of street foods. The sellers, as well as their consumers, seemed did not care about their environment, especially the cleanliness of the beach area. They threw garbage right under or behind the stalls, hoping that the sea will take their garbage, swallow, and then bury the garbage beneath the sea surface. The nearby village worsened the situation since most of the dwellers also threw their garbage directly into the sea. That’s why I found the water there was so polluted. It is sad to find that there are people who think that the sea is a giant garbage can  😦

A little farther from the shore, there is a park with an open air naval museum inside the park. It was also seemed neglected although many people still come to visit and see the museum’s collections which was consists of torpedoes, canons, a plane, and other things related to the navy. There is also a children play-ground beside the park which almost always full of children playing with their parents or friends.

Anyway, I visited the place neither to pay a visit to the museum nor to play in the play-ground. My intention was to wait for and to watch the sunset. Unfortunately, there were dark clouds everywhere, so my chance to watch the sunset was gone. I decided to leave the beach soon after I took these gloomy pictures. I hope that next time I will be able to snap pictures of a nice sunset there.–

Keterangan :
